The Trench Raider is a Machete that pays homage to the legendary knuckle-guard knives of World War I trench warfare. This modern iteration takes extreme cutting power and CQB capabilities to the next level. As always, they are 100% handcrafted in-house. We're currently making them out of both SUP9A and Bone Tactical Super Steel. They are all individually heat-treated with our proprietary protocols designed to extract maximum strength, edge-retention, toughness, and sharpness from each particular steel type while accounting for both edge geometry and proper use case scenario. Like all our custom blades, they are shipped out shaving sharp. This machete embodies the pinnacle of state-of-the-art cutting tool engineering merged with handmade heirloom quality craftsmanship.
Its full knuckle guard protects the hand while doubling as an impact tool. The blade design combines the length of a short sword for truly impressive chopping and slashing with the "cola de gallo" (clip point) machete profile , ensuring excellent parrying, and thrusting capabilities—reminiscent of the massive cut down sabers and Bowie knives wielded with such efficiency during the American Civil War.
We currently have Trench Raiders available with either a top grain leather sheath, or a thermoplastic sheath. Both offer the same function: shoulder and/or belt carry capabilities. We are likely going to be phasing out the leather sheathes because of the rising cost of materials and moreover the tremendous amount of time that goes into making them. In order to pass on a more modern and affordable product to the end user we may discontinue the leather sheathes.
These innovate sheathes, made from the toughest and highest quality genuine saddle leather available, merge the collectability of hand-tooled artisan quality leatherworks with the modern adaptability of it's multi-carry system. Each sheath comes with a removable shoulder sling, cut from the same leather and finished to match, as well as a standard belt loop for outside the waistband hip carry. All accessories are made from a high quality bronze that won't rust... only patina along with the sheath. Like all Bone Tactical products, they're made to outlast the original owner.
The thermoplastic sheathes feature the same general layout as the former leather sheath systems. The belt clip on these new thermoplastic sheathes is removable, as is the shoulder sling attachment. The shoulder sling with is made from braided 550 paracord.
Three Distinct Versions:
🔹 Modern Warrior – The most accessible model, featuring our in-house recycled jute micarta handle scales—an incredibly tough material. Handles on all versions are secured with bronze rivets and heavy-duty epoxy, and the beige colorway ensures adaptability in both urban and rural environments.
🔹 Space Cowboy – A mid-tier version with multi-color micarta handle scales, crafted from repurposed materials supporting impoverished children through some of our outreach programs. Features a distressed silver "battle-worn" finish for a rugged aesthetic.
🔹 Resolute Warrior – The top-tier edition, showcasing rare, exotic granadillo handle scales salvaged from remote rainforests. Finished in an understated matte black for a low-profile, refined look.
