This belt sheath fits our full line-up of Bowie Knives and is 100% hand made from some of the world's finest leather. Featuring solid bronze rivets and snaps, it’s ambidextrous due to being wearable in both horizontal and vertical positions on the belt. This heirloom quality handmade piece of gear features a level of artisanry that nearly no longer exists and will easily last a lifetime with proper care and use.
Bone Tactical leather sheathes start long before the animal is even slaughtered. The material for our sheathes is chosen when the cattle arrive to the slaughterhouse. Only the finest cattle are chosen, and a humane slaughter is ensured. Next the hides are sent to the best tanners available. Each piece is further inspected by Mr. Bone himself for its inherent qualities like thickness, stretch, durability, color, and uniformity. From there, select hides are chosen to be passed along to our incredible artisans. With Greg's direct guidance they then proceed to produce these beautiful yet incredibly functional and durable works of art.
The Bowie Knife belt sheath features two loops for horizontal behind the back carry that nearly any standard size belt will pass through. There’s also a hidden loop below the sharpening stone pouch that allows for horizontal carry (lefties will find this a suitable way to carry for left hand access). The secondary retention snap is solid brass, and it's not only a classy touch of rustic elegance... it means you don't have to worry about your knife falling out.
Our sheath features two loops that are designed to fit nearly any size ferrocerium rod fire starter between the two of them (sold separately). Each sheath comes with a fine grit sharpening stone included and tucked into the sharpening stone pouch located on the center face of the sheath.
